Does hair ironing causes hair loss?

I was wondering if hair ironing, straightening, causes hair loss, like permanent hair loss.

There is no direct correlation between hair straightening and permanent hair loss; however, over time if not careful, hair straightening and ironing can weaken your follicles by drying them out which eventually can cause temporary hair loss. so again, if you are careful with doing it, you should be ok but be aware of the potential risk.

It is normal to lose between 50-100 hairs a day, this is part of the hair renewal process. however most people suffer from excessive hair loss at one time in their life. there are many reasons for this including medication, radiation, chemotherapy, exposure to chemicals, hormonal and nutritional factors, thyroid disease, generalized or local skin disease, and stress.
