Should I be letting my male pattern baldness bring me down so much?

I'm 30 and have started to recede pretty badly. by 40 I'll be a chrome dome like my father and brothers, and I'm having a very hard time accepting it. I went the shaved head look and am lucky to have a nice shaped head, but I hate the way I look with no hair.

Propecia gave me horrendous side-effetcs. Rugs and transplants are dangerous and/or expensive non-solutions. Cloning and regeneration is still science fiction. Acceptance is the only solution, but I'm really struggling.

I used to be tall, dark and handsome but my hair loss has devastated me - I'm now very shy and have trouble talking to people, especially females. I burn with jealousy when I see men with good hair.

My social life has faded away to nothing and I'm a mere shell of the man I once was. I am now beginning to wonder whether life is worth living. What do other young men do to cope with such a blow? will I ever be able to attract women again?

first you have to accept that there are somethings that can not be changed.

Second there are MANY bald people who are considered very attractive.

Don't be ashamed of your looks. You are changing so change with it. A woman who looks at you for your physical self will one day end up with 1/2 your possession in the divorce.

Go back to the shaved look if your loss of hair is too much for you to bear. just remember this attitude is what makes a person, not the cloths.

Well I tell you this because this is where the car keys are look at all those men and tell me how many of them has any hair

and if they do it is in "the Undertakers" the wrestlers hair style.

Could you see a match of a bunch of men who had a full head of hair and how nasty they would look
Compaired to the match of men who don't even have a small blade of the stuff on the top

So why are you I mean men afraid of going bald think about this one again.

If it's any consolation, I've seen on TV (Discovery Home and Health channel to be exact) and read in papers that male baldness is actually due to one having too much hormones or something like that. the article was really lifting but I'm sorry that I'm unable to relate any of it. Ultimately, it's said that male baldness is just due to one having more male hormones (not sure if its testosterone, but it's similar) than a normal male. in short, it's actually due to a male being more macho.

Don't worry though. There's nothing to be ashamed off. I presonally think bald guys are good looking and have always believed that in order to grasp one's true beauty is when the person has no hair. I assume you must be pretty good looking with hair and it hsouldn't be any less without it. It's just an asset that you can easily do without anyway.

I know it's easy for me to say as I'm not the one experiencing it but I truly think you shouldn't think about it too much. really, it's not the end of the world and life itself is more precious to live for than a flock of hair. just know that you shouldn't give up in any case! Be strong and know you're not alone. Chicks dig bald male alot!

go for the shaved looked then. my hubby did and i love it love it. you dont need hair to have a life.

I know exactly how you feel but you must "bring yourself out of depression" Hair is not the most important thing in your life and hair has nothing to do with success in this life. I lost my hair at age 25 and had a "hair piece for one year" and decided it was not worth it. I have just as many friends as before and my wife thinks it is sexy. by the way, I have had 4 promotions at work since I turned bald, 14 years ago.

What would you feel like if the Dr. were to tell you you have 30 days to live? is your hair that important?
Remember 40% of males over 30 are bald.

Male pattern baldness comes partly from excess testosterone - there's got to be some way to enjoy that part of it.
